The Groupon, Living Social, Amazon deals or whatever the flavor of deal site you like have great potential for impact to your business both good and bad. It is important to have some guidance. I have seen these deals really help businesses get a boost in traffic and I have seen them put businesses under. Here are some things to remember when you are considering doing a Groupon like offering.
Make sure you have an on-line presence for your potential clients to see pictures of your location. People want to know you have a location and that you are not a nasty hole in the wall.
Don’t give away the store. Good discounts are great to build traffic but don’t give away so much that you loose more money than you can afford.
Make the most of the exposure. Be sure you get emails from those who buy your deal so you can send thank yous and market them later without having to include Groupon.
Make a GREAT impression. You need to know that this is not about selling the deals but selling your bussiness. When those customers that bought your deal redeem the deal it is your opportunity to spread the message of your business to the world. Remember that the most powerful advertising is that of word of mouth. Don’t screw it up by being frustrated with your deal loosing you money. People will feel your attitude about your deal, so love it and make sure your staff knows you love it.
I would love to hear your thoughts. Please comment.
