This topic was the subject of a sermon at church last week and I was struck by how I never really thought of it before. I have read the verse and even had studies with this verse but I never put it together and got it. The verse is 1 Corinthians 13:8-13. The verse says “Love never ends”. To put this into context Paul is rebuking the church in Corinth for ranking each other by the gifts they had like tongues and prophecy etc. Paul tells them that all the gifts will go away just like this earth but love will be eternal. I know i have heard this before too, but think about this. You can never over love someone. Your love in action will be eternal in that the impact and the credit if you will are going to last into eternity.
Now I am thinking great do more love. right? Well yes but now I am really convicted of how little I really love. The attributes of love are found in 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 and dang how I fail. I don’t need to go out to find new ways to love but rather look at how I can be a person of love in my own home. I read this and hear God saying you can not love too much. If I do all things in love then I can’t screw it up. Ok there is more about love to talk about but I have to go now. Love never ends.
